Schritt für Schritt tastet sich die Ausgabe für C-Instrumente „Improvisation 101: Major, Minor and Blues“ von Gregory W. Yasinitsky an freies Spiel in Jazz, Rock und Pop heran. Jedes Kapitel basiert auf einem leichten Musikstück, das mit einer Band auf der Play-Along-CD geübt werden kann.

Dazu gibt es kurze Erklärungen, welche Noten beim Improvisieren gut klingen und warum. Beispiel-Soli von erfahrenen Musikern dienen als Vorbild für eigene Versuche. Das Lehrwerk ist auch im Bandkontext an der Schule oder Musikschule einsetzbar (ab ca. 2 Jahren Instrumentalunterricht).
